Sharp Teams In MLB

DIRECT FROM NEVADA WITH NICK BOGDANOVICH

SHARPS HAVE BEEN CLEAR EARLY IN MLB ABOUT WHO THEY LIKE AND DON'T LIKE

It's not hard to get a read thus far on who the"sharp"teams are (those preferred by professional wagerers) in Major League Baseball.

I had a fairly good idea coming into the season who the sharps would be backing and who they'd be fading. Early money has come in even stronger than I anticipated in those directions.

Let' me run through both lists for you based on what happened in the first series of the new 2010 season...

WHO THE SHARPS ARE BACKING (as a general rule)
Atlanta
Colorado
San Francisco
Baltimore
Minnesota
Cleveland
Texas
Seattle

Now, I'm not saying that the sharps think these are the best teams. These are the best"value"teams in their mind because they expect these teams to outperform the line. Sharps know the Phillies and Yankees are loaded for example. But, the moneylines are so high in their games that you're unlikely to make money betting on them every day. These are the"money"teams in their mind, at least for right now.

Sharps were disappointed by the starts of Texas and Seattle, and may be re-thinking their early season analysis (though sharps tend to stick to their guns rather than respond to small sample sizes). Strong runs by San Francisco and Minnesota helped make up for that. It could turn out that other sharp teams become apparent this weekend (if two sharp teams were playing each other to start the season, it wouldn't jump out from the betting action). For now, this is a pretty good list of the value teams in sharp terms.

WHO THE SHARPS ARE FADING (as a general rule)
Chicago Cubs
Houston
Los Angeles Dodgers
Toronto
Chicago White Sox
Los Angeles Angels
Oakland

It was very noticeable out here in Nevada that the two Los Angeles teams aren't getting much respect. Both were expected to fall back off last year's performances. Their opening series went badly too, with the Dodgers dropping two games to Pittsburgh, and the Angels losing three of four at home to Minnesota. I know some sharps who had some very big plays in the Twins/Angels series.

Not all the"fade"teams struggled out of the gate though. Toronto won two games in Texas. Oakland had a good start obviously against Seattle.

Let me also mention that sharps are aware of pitching matchups. There may be a pitcher on some of their"go against"teams that they like...and some back of the rotation guys on the"take"teams that will cause them to pass. I'm outlining general rules today based on my preseason discussions with sharps, and then what actually happened when the money started hitting the market with their key teams of interest.

I'm always telling you to think like a sharp and bet like a sharp. I'm always telling you what the sharps are doing in the NFL and all through the biggest legal betting events. I'll do my very best to keep you up to date on what the sharps are doing all summer long in baseball.

I'll also do my best to find the best plays on the board for you every night with my personal service. Call 1-877-822-2276 for details. My BEST BETS can also be purchased here at the website with your credit card.

I know many of you like playing the TV games. I'll see if I can find something of value for you in Saturday's FOX games (including NYY/Tampa Bay) and Sunday Night's national ESPN game (St. Louis/Milwaukee). Don't forget to check on the NBA! We have some big games this weekend, and the playoffs are just around the corner.
