COLLEGE FOOTBALL'S SURPRISE SPREAD SIDES (SO FAR) FOR 2013
IT'S NOT ALWAYS THE BIG NAMES THAT CASH!

Believe it or not, we've reached the quarter pole of this here-and-now College Football season with most of the country's 125 FBS teams having already played four games ... yup, that did go fast!

Maybe you thought some of the country's heavy-hitter such as Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon and Stanford were gonna pile up the profits and - so far - the country's top four teams according to the preseason Associated Press poll are a combined 7-5-1 against the Las Vegas odds.
Good but not great, right?

Meanwhile, there's been a batch of teams that didn't get all the press clippings/media coverage prior to the start of this '13 season that have wowed bettors ... now here's the roll call:

ARIZONA - The Wildcats have surged out of the starting gate with a 3-0 ATS (against the spread) mark and who knew defense would be a key factor as U of A's allowed a mere 26 total points? On deck, it's a road game at TD-plus fav Washington.

GEORGIA TECH - When the Yellow Jackets take the field for Thursday Night's ESPN clash against Virginia Tech, they'll do so with a 3-0 ATS squad and note that includes covers against hoop schools Duke and North Carolina. The last time G-Tech started off a year at 4-0 ATS was in 2008 - the first year in the Paul Johnson Era.

HOUSTON - Nobody talks about the Coogs anymore but they've silently rolled up a 3-and-oh spread mark and only once did Houston exceed the 50-point mark during these games (note last year Houston went 5-6 ATS whenever scoring less than 50 points in a game). Now, the Cougars enter this weekend's game at UT-San Antonio a mere field goal favorite - now that's a potentially tricky spot.

MARYLAND - Don't look now but the born-again Terrapins are 4-0 spreadwise while allowing a mere 10 ppg. This week Randy Edsall's guys get a bye before an Oct. 5th tilt at Florida State - if Maryland's grabbing two TDs or so there we figure to "bite".

UCF - Surprise, surprise! The Knights will head into Saturday's home game against TD favorite South Carolina with a 3-0 ATS mark that includes a 34-31 winner at 4 ½-point fav Penn State two weeks ago ... a major win for Jim Hurley's Network but then you knew that already, right?

UCLA - Finally, let's not forget the guys in blue-and-gold who have galloped out of the gate at 3-0 ATS with covers against Nevada, at Nebraska and versus New Mexico State. Get a load of Jim L. Mora's offense that's averaging nearly 53 ppg and no wonder QB Brett Hundley is starting to get serious Heisman attention. No game for this LA-LA land team this weekend but the Pac-12 guys are at Utah on Oct. 3rd. Got it?

UNDERDOG COLLEGE PARLAY OF SEPTEMBER
SWEEPS SATURDAY NIGHT
JIM HURLEY knows a LIVE DOG when he sees one! Not just dogs who play well and stay within the number...but PIT BULLS that grab the game by the throat and make the cover never in doubt. Like last weekend when we won with San Diego State (+7) against Oregon State 30-34, or Utah State (+7) almost pulling off the upset at USC 14-17.
These are dogs you can play on the money line for even greater profits because Vegas has the wrong team favored!
We've found not one but TWO of these Powerful Plays this Saturday night.
Play them individually...then parlay them for maximum profit.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28

BEST BET ** BEST BET **
CONNECTICUT at BUFFALO: Must admit that we'd pass by a game like this 95 percent of the time ... but not this year as UConn Huskies laying road points off monstrous close-but-no-cigar 24-21 loss/cover against 3-TD fav Michigan last Saturday night. On the flip side, Buffalo off a bye week and now host Bulls will rattle mistake-prone Husky QB Whitmer who won't get "mission accomplished" in the red zone. It's Buffalo 26, Connecticut 17.

Win With Jim Hurley's College Information Play of September.
My top sources are ALL on the same side of one marquee game.
It might Be LSU-Georgia, Oklahoma-Notre Dame or Wisconsin-Ohio State.
Whatever it is, it's sure to get the cover, just like last week when Texas (-6) beat Kansas St. 31-21.

LSU at GEORGIA: Major showdown of two top 10 teams that already have "scratched" when it comes to league play as LSU bested Auburn; Georgia topped South Carolina. Here in this "between the hedges" special, the hometown Dawgs must corral a newly-balanced LSU attack that last weekend rushed for 228 yards and threw for 229 yards in 35-21 non-cover win against War Eagle. Will LSU slinger Mettenberger (10 TDs and 1 INT) get enough ground support here from star-in-the-making RB Hill who rushed for 184 yards and three TDs last weekend? Looks like an "over" to us as long as Georgia QB Murray (1,040 yards passing with 7 TDs and 2 INTs) keeps his wits about 'em.

OKLAHOMA at NOTRE DAME: Strange but true that ND Fighting Irish is 0-3-1 or 0-4 versus Mr. Vig so far this year including last weekend's rather controversial 17-13 win against Michigan State. Hey, the Irish (3-1 SU) rode the officials' flags to the winner's circle last Saturday (see four defensive pass interference penalties that had State HC Dantonio scratching his head) and now we'll see if QB Rees-to-WR Jones tandem has something up its sleeve one year after Irish shocked Oklahoma 30-13 as 11-point road dogs in Norman ... now that was one of Jim Hurley's biggest/bets winners a year ago but keep in mind we're coming off a great college weekend where Texas - our Saturday Night Game of the Month - chewed up Kansas State while we also walked off with winners on Utah State over USC and San Diego State over Oregon State!

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26

SAN FRANCISCO at ST. LOUIS: Is it time to panic for the defending NFC champion SF 49ers? Last Sunday's brutal 27-7 home loss to 10 ½-point pup Indianapolis featured lots of bad stuff but how about the fact HC Harbaugh's club had the ball for just 23:35 and registered just 254 total yards! Now with OLB Smith gone on rehab and RB Gore (82 yards rushing versus the Colts) an unhappy camper, the 1-2 Niners must make things right here or else the whole season could spin out of control. Hey, we cashed with an anti-49ers play last week as Indy won in a breeze, then Thursday night went with the Niners (-3) as they beat the Rams 35-11 to start week 4 with a win!

PURE GOLD!

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29

SEATTLE at HOUSTON: The visiting Seahawks are perfect 3-0 SU (straightup) and ATS (against the spread) thus far but this is a nobody-is-perfect type league and gotta believe wounded Texans - who didn't score a TD in last weekend's 30-9 loss in Baltimore - show us major rebound here with rookie WR Hopkins steppin' out against loud-mouth Seattle corners. It's an upset alert! Houston 23, Seattle 17.

** PREFERRED PICK ** PREFERRED PICK **
PHILADELPHIA at DENVER:
Now that Broncos' QB Manning has rung up a dozen touchdown throws in his first three games, you wonder what might slow 'em down ... and the answer's not this sieve-like Philly defense! Manning (32-of-37 for 374 yards and 3 TDs in Monday's 37-21 win against Oakland) will be in a pick-and-choose situation here as wide-outs Welker/Decker/Thomas combined for 25 receptions against Oakland and it is a name-the-score deal here. Hey, the Jim Hurley Network cashed last week with Kansas City over Philadelphia on Thursday Night and about to roll with another AFC West gang against HC Kelly's crew. Ba-boom! Denver 39, Philadelphia 19.

Are You Undefeated On Sunday Night? I am!
Sept 8: Cowboys (-3.5) Giants WON 36-31
Sept 15:Seahawks (-2.5) 49ers WON 29-3
Sept 22: Bears (-3.5) Steelers WON 40-23 & OVER 40.5 WON

IS THIS WEEK
'S SUNDAY NIGHTER A SUPER BOWL PREVIEW?
Patriots at Falcons (-2.5)
(NBC-TV 8:25pm ET)
These are two talented, solid teams looking to go deep into the Playoffs, and will not consider this season a success unless they make it to the Super Bowl. Neither is playing at the top of their game so far, but one will have the upper hand Sunday night, and my Network has spotted which side it is.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30

MIAMI at NEW ORLEANS: Great MNF clash inside the Louisiana Superdome where a pair of 3-and-oh squads battle it out but who knew the Dolphins had such character? The Fish possessed the ball for just under 23 minutes and yet still snagged late 27-23 win against Atlanta last week (a big-time NFL Week 3 win for Jim Hurley!) and key here is can Miami slinger Tannehill (236 yards passing and two scores last Sunday) stand up to the heat brought on by a Saints defense that has allowed just 38 total points in three games? The totals price may be going "the other way" but this - for now - looks like a nice "under" play but make sure you're all aboard with Jim Hurley's Network on game-day afternoon either here online or at 1-800-323-4453.
