Kelso?s Advanced Sports Betting: Over Already?

Kelso’s Advanced Sports Betting: Over Already?

By the way the mainstream media is talking (and many bettors), you’d think that the Conference Finals are over already and the San Antonio Spurs will be facing the Miami Heat for the NBA Championship in a rematch of last year’s final round.

I can see why the market has them favored that way. San Antonio has been dominant for a couple of weeks now, and Oklahoma City seems hopeless outmatched unless Serge Ibaka can return from his calf injury at 100%. There are rumblings Friday morning that he might be able to make it back to the lineup. He’s now listed as “day-to-day” heading into Sunday’s resumption of that series. But, he won’t do OKC any good if he’s mostly standing in place or moving gingerly. The Spurs’ ball movement is crisp and fast. And, even if he IS suddenly back at 100%, OKC has to win four of the next five games to reach the finals.

Miami is a bit trickier. The market is giving them credit for being championship caliber, while holding Indiana back because of the Pacers’ recent slump. Obviously, if Miami is going to be -7 or -8 at home, and -2 on the road…then it’s hard to see the Pacers advancing. It’s tough to win three games out of five when you’re always the underdog! But, we have seen chinks in the Miami armor, and the Pacers are at least capable of making this series interesting. The Pacers at their best are capable of making it VERY interesting.

Given the percentages in play, it would probably behoove you to at least pencil in San Antonio and Miami for now, then watch the remaining conference finals action with that championship round on your mind. I know these teams played last year. But, it’s not the same exact collection of talent. And, the Spurs are definitely in much better form right now than they’ve arguably ever been in the postseason. See if you can find:

  • Weaknesses for San Antonio that aren’t being exploited, yet
  • Weaknesses for Miami specific to what they’ll face against San Antonio
  • Potential GAMEBREAKERS off the bench if the stars cancel out

If Indiana makes a run, you can start thinking of their potential performance in the championship round…say…after they’ve won a third game vs. Miami. No reason to think about them as a Finals team until they’re knocking on the door much more forcefully than they are now.

Students in my College of Advanced Sports Betting and Handicapping must always be thinking ahead. You want to be a few steps ahead of the oddsmakers so you can act quickly when opportunity strikes. Don’t assume the conference rounds are already over…but prepare for that contingency by using remaining action to scout the finals.

I have some big plays planned for my clients over Memorial Day Weekend in both the NBA Playoffs and Major League Baseball. Hopefully all of you do-it-yourselfers have some great possibilities circled. If you’d like some additional help, you can always purchase my daily BEST BETS right here at this very website with your major credit card. If you have any questions about packages that take you through the rest of the NBA Playoffs or to baseball’s All-Star Break, talk to one of my representatives in the Vegas-Sports-Masters office at 1-800-755-2255.

Our next class get-together will be early next week. I anticipate that being a baseball-related edition unless there are some major surprises in the basketball between now and then. We’ll definitely focus on the NBA again before the Finals begin. Through the summer, we’ll be focusing on day-to-day baseball and football prep work for the Fall.

Thanks very much for your continued attendance. Dean of Sports Handicapping appreciates your hard work. I’m confident that you’ve learned the importance of discipline, effort, and focus thanks to the elbow grease and concentration you’ve been applying to the process. The casual public loses because they think it’s going to be easy. Those who understand that it’s going to be hard…and are willing to buckle down…are consistently rewarded. If you learn what it takes to win right now, you can win for a lifetime.

I look forward to our next class time next week. I’ll see you then.
