Los Angeles Angels Playing Like Worst Team In Baseball Despite $148,900,000 Payroll

By Kelso Sturgeon

The NCAA Tournament presents the Final Four Saturday and I have found one edge that makes one team a standout play. I'm going to release it as my 100-unit Final Four Game of the Year.

Get this 100-unit winner, plus a 10-unit play on the second game, for just $50, charged to your major credit card.

There are many things a bettor needs to consider in analyzing these games.

First, one must recognize that each of the Final Four teams have stood the pressure-packed test of walking through the blazing fire of competition to get here and have nothing to prove. Any one of them could win the championship and no one could say it was an upset.

One must give an edge in each game to the team coached by someone who has been here and done that - and that includes Florida's Billy Donovan who coached the Gators to back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007 and Kentucky 's John Calipari who won the championship with the Wildcats in 2012.

A Wisconsin title would make Bo Ryan the only coach to ever win national championships in two different divisions. He won four Division III titles at Wisconsin-Platteville. Connecticut's Kevin Ollie is in his first season as a head coach.

Just reminder this is one of the most wide-open Final Fours in years and, as noted, any one of these teams can win it.

Let's Not Forget Baseball! Angels Appear To Be In For Long Season Despite $148 Million Payroll

Are the Angels about to repeat last season's disappointment when they went 78-84 after opening the season with hopes of winning the World Series?

The Angels have the sixth biggest payroll in Major League Baseball ($148,900,000) but did not look like it as they played absolutely terrible baseball in their first three games. The numbers in the first three games spoke loudly.

  • They were outscored 26-8 by the Mariners.
  • The Angels' pitching staff gave up 34 hits in the three losses - 17 of them for extra bases.
  • The pitching staff finished the three games with a collective earned run average (ERA) of 8.33.
  • Angels relief pitchers were on the mound for 13 innings and gave up 13 hits - five of them home runs, along with seven walks and 12 runs.
  • Despite the fact Mike Trout is hitting .400, the rest of the team is batting a miserable .151.

The bottom line is simple. A team with an ERA of 8.33, a batting average of .151 and a relief staff that cannot get anybody out  is not going anywhere.

Yes, it was just three games, but what an awful three.

100-Unit NBA Blowout Game Of Year Scores Sunday

There are nine games on the schedule Sunday and one of them is being played in a situation that gives one team the kinds of edges that 85% of the time produces blowout wins.

This means I am releasing one of these teams as the winner of my 100-Unit NBA Blowout Game of the Year and I am expecting a 15-20 point win by this modest favorite. Get all the money today with this knockout winner for just $50, charged to your major credit card.

Keep in mind the NBA regular season is finished Wednesday April 16 and there is much left to be settled - things such as:

  1. Which of five teams will end up the overall #1 seed and secure the home court edge  throughout the entire playoffs, right through the championship round? San Antonio (59-17) is on top right now, with Oklahoma City (55-19) in the second spot. Still in the fight are Miami (52-22), Indiana (53-23) and the Los Angeles Clippers (54-23)
  2. Which teams will win their conference championships? The Heat and Pacers are in a dead-heat in the Eastern Conference and the Spurs and Thunder will battle it out to the end in the Western Conference.
  3. In the Eastern Conference, the New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks and even the Cleveland Cavaliers - all with losing records - are fight it out for the 8th spot in the post season.
  4. In the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies and the Phoenix Suns are all in the running for the 8th.

This is certainly incentive time for these teams, and one can expect them to give it 100% until they have accomplished the things listed above. Just food for thought.
