Louisville's 50-Unit 31-24 OT Win At Cincinnati Gets Football Week Off To Big Start

Louisville's 50-Unit 31-24 OT Win At Cincinnati Gets Football Week Off To Big Start

By Kelso Sturgeon

It was not easy but Louisville (-3) got it done last night as a winning 50-unit play when it knocked off Cincinnati, 31-24, in overtime. Both teams are now headed to a major bowl bid and the Louisville victory made Central Florida (10-1) the American Athletic Conference champion, sending the Knights to a BCS Bowl and its $12,000,000 payoff.

Had Cincinnati beaten Louisville, Central Florida would have had to beat SMU Saturday in Dallas to claim the outright conference championship because both would have finished with 7-1 conference records. Louisville (7-1) was already out of the race because its only loss this season was against Central Florida.

Looking ahead as a bettor, one must consider just how hard Central Florida, a 10-point favorite, over SMU (5-6), will play to get the win. It is a legitimate question.

I am releasing tonight's Mid-American Conference championship game between undefeated Northern Illinois (12-0) and Bowling Green (9-3) that will be played indoors at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, in Detroit as a 25-unit play. Kickoff is set for 8:05 and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN2. NIU is a 4.5-point favorite, with a total of 59.

In many respects this game qualifies as a 50-unit play but my figures say both teams are far better than advertised. Northern Illinois comes into this game having won 25 straight games against MAC opponents and stands 24-1 in its past 25 games. And the Huskies are led by one of the best quarterbacks in the country in Jordan Lynch.

Bowling Green counters with a lock-down defense that gives up but 13.8 points and 296.6 yards of offense per game and comes into the title game with four straight blowout wins-beating Buffalo 24-7, Eastern Michigan 50-7, Ohio 49-0 and Miami-OH 45-3. It also is of note the Falcons last two losses came in back-o-back games by a total of 4 points, 21-20 at Mississippi State and 28-25 against Toledo.

The bottom line: we have two teams at the absolute top of their games and the number is an equalizer in this one. Still, I believe I have found the three hidden factors that will give us the winner and I am releasing the game at the 25-unit level quite confident I will win it.

Friday Night Football/Basketball Betting Menu

MAC Championship Game On ESPN Merits 25-Unit Play
Undefeated Northern Illinois (12-0) lays it all on the line tonight as it meets a very good Bowling Green (9-3) team for the Mid-American Conference championship indoors at Ford Field in Detroit. Not only is Northern Illinois undefeated, it is ranked 14th in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) standings and needs to move up just two notches to #12 to get a $12,000,000 bowl bid. Bowling Green obviously plays the spoiler roll in this one and, as Alabama learned last week, an underdog can mess up all kinds of plans. The betting line makes this game even but I do believe I have found two edges that will put one of these teams in the winner's circle. 15-Unit College Basketball Upset Cashes Tonight
My Best Bets Basketball Investment Club got the money against last with a 15-unit play on Missouri (-6) over West Virginia, 80-71, in a game that was never as close as the final score and is coming right back tonight with another 15-unit move, this time on an underdog that grades out the straight up winner. You can get the money in college basketball again tonight with this standout upset play for just $15, charged to your major credit card. Better yet sign up for the entire college and NBA seasons for just $299. It's the biggest bargain in sports.

25-Unit NBA Game Of The Week Wins Big Tonight
My Chairman's Basketball Investment Club took last night off because of the limited schedule but is back in action tonight with its 25-unit NBA Game of the Week. I have found an NBA team that has almost all the edges and is playing in a situation that the past three seasons has produced 80% winners. It All Begins With The Numbers|

Whether one is handicapping football or basketball the process begins with the numbers, literally thousands of them. A team's won-lost record is one thing but the important numbers lie beyond that and when crunched in total reveal a team's performance profile, offering insight into how it will perform today.

Numbers are invaluable in the evaluation process, and that includes betting lines. Bettors all too often look at a particular betting line and assume the person who made it-bookmaker or line-maker-was three cards short of a full deck. I mean, what was he thinking when he posted this absurd number? Bookmakers do make mistakes but those who remain in business do not make many.

Anytime you are tempted to disrespect a bookmaker's lines, don't. He is giving nothing away and when he invites you to bet with him, he believes he has offered a number that will challenge you, whether you are giving or taking.

This brings me to the seven college conference championship games Friday and Saturday-games that are going to send five of the winners to a Bowl Championship Series game and two of the 10 teams in that game are more than likely going to play for the national championship. It's all on the line for these teams and a bowl bid worth at least $12,000,000 and all the recognition that goes with it.

Here are the six conference championship games that will be played Saturday, and then more about betting them.

Bettors will find all these lines challenging, but may assume it is not going to be difficult to beat those offered on the Duke-Florida State or Michigan State-Ohio State games.

Not only did Florida State close out the season 12-0, it went 10-2 against the spread in doing that. Regardless, every game Florida State won, with the exception of a 48-34 win at Boston College was a blowout. When the regular season was over, FSU had beaten its 12 opponents by an average of 42.7 points per game.

And who is Duke, anyway, but a team that has played the role of ACC doormat for decades?

There certainly is magic in laying the 5.5 with Ohio State. After all the Buckeyes have won 24 consecutive games and played kick-ass all along the way, again going 12-0 this season, as they did last year, while outscoring their opponents by an average of 28.0 points per game.

And who is Michigan State anyway, but a team that is famous for winning games, but never enough to get there. The Spartans have gone to bowl games for the past six years but nowhere in the group is a BCS bowl-just appearances in the post-season games such as the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl and the Outback Bowl.

This 200-unit, 6-game Saturday championship package is available on this web site and toll free at 1-800-755-2255 for just $75, charged to your major credit card. At least one of the games will be a 100-unit or 50-unit game, nd you'll get Friday's MAC Championship game as a free bonus.
