Boise State and underdog Iowa State got it done last night to give me a 3-0 start on this week's college football. It all began on Thursday night when LSU went on the road and knocked off a good Mississippi State team, 19-6. The college winning continues today and the National Football League winning arrives Sunday.
This is a giant weekend for me and I am ready to rock 'n roll.
But first, here is what I have already done this week. Winning with me is never an accident and here are the three games I released with comments on why I used each team. Here they are, exactly as I released them on the Internet.
2-0 Friday Night
Best Bets Club
Boise State (1-0) -20 over TOLEDO (1-1)
Prediction: Boise State by 27-28
Boise State 40, Toledo 15
Comments: The betting line on this game shows that bookmakers have finally accepted the fact Boise State just might be the real deal. This wake-up call comes after the Broncos went 61-5 over the past five seasons and 114-16 over the past 10. Wow, maybe this team can play. It is of importance to know Boise State has gone 18-5 against the number over the past four years in games in which it was favored by 20 or more points and is 19-2 on the road over the past three seasons, with those losses coming last year at Nevada (13-1), 34-31, and in the 2008 Fiesta Bowl to TCU, 17-16, as a 3-point 'dog. Boise State is a giant football power, as it showed in its opening game two weeks ago in crushing Georgia 35-21 in Atlanta's Georgia Dome in a contest that was never really close. Boise State opened up a 28-7 lead and coasted home. Forgive my lengthy background here but I believe it is important to bettors to understand just where Boise State stands in the football spectrum. With all this said, Toledo has an excellent football team, with blue-chip skill players, an outstanding offensive line and a rock-solid defense. My respect for their talent and their coach might make me on another day take the Rockets plus the 20, but not today. The Toledo team you saw take Ohio State to the money before losing 27-22 in the Horseshoe last week is real but the dynamics work against the Rockets in this one. First of all, Toledo put everything it had into the Ohio State game and has to be out of gas and now are playing on a short week. Meantime, Boise State has had two weeks off to get ready for this one and being fresh should with the blue-chip talent it has completely dominate this game from start to finish. For Toledo, which came out of the Ohio State quite beat up, the timing is simply bad. On another day, yes, tonight, no.
5 Unit Play
Iowa State (2-0) +4 over CONNECTICUT (1-1)
Iowa State by 3-4
Iowa State 24, Connecticut 20
Comments: Iowa State is one of a handful of college football teams that are playing far above pre-season analysis and predictions and arrives in Storrs armed and quite dangerous. Iowa State has really flexed its muscles in its first two games, beating I-AA power Northern Iowa, 20-19, in its opener and then coming back last week to beat arch-rival Iowa, 44-41, in three overtimes as a 6 ½-point home 'dog. The reason for the Cyclones early success has to be credited to junior quarterback Steele Jantz, a junior college All-American from San Francisco City College, who revealed his credentials against Iowa, throwing four touchdowns, included three in the pressure-packed overtimes. He certainly made a statement with those TD passes in overtime but more than that also converted and 3rd and 15 and a 3rd and 20 in the extra periods. He is special, period, and operates behind one of the biggest and best offensive lines in football. This is not to detract from Connecticut, which last week lost at Vanderbilt, 24-21, but I just can't see the Huskies defense, as good as it is, stopping Jantz and I do not believe UConn can outshoot the Cyclones.
LSU Gets It Done Thursday
LSU (2-0) -3 ½ over MISSISSIPPI STATE (1-1)
Prediction: LSU by 9-10
LSU 19, Mississippi State 6
Comments: There was much to consider before making LSU the play in this game and it all began with the offense vs. defense numbers. Mississippi State averages 588 yards on offense (321 rushing and 267 passing. LSU gives up 215 yards per game (45.5 rushing and 169.5 passing). Then there is the history of this series which LSU has dominated by an 18-1 margin in the last 19 games, with the last Mississippi State win coming in Starkville in 1999 by a 17-16 score. LSU comes into this SEC showdown with no questions to be answered. It has blue-chip talent right through the depth chart and just keeps plugging in new players. Mississippi State has not yet answered all the questions. Its opening season 59-14 win at Memphis lost some of its luster when this same Memphis team was crushed 47-3 at Arkansas State last week. Questions also arise from the fact Mississippi State lost 41-34 at Auburn to the same Tigers team that was pushed to the limit to beat Utah State, 42-38. Both these teams are playing off five days rest but it is not a stretch to say LSU did not have to put much effort into last week's scrimmage against I-AA Northwestern State-a 54-17 win-while Mississippi State was all-in against Auburn. Mississippi State and Oregon, which LSU crushed, 40-27, as a 3 ½-point underdog in its first game of the season, run the spread option offense. Oregon uses speed to be successful while Mississippi State uses power. There is no indication power will be any more successful than speed, especially since the Bulldogs' offensive line is beat up. Senior starting center Quentin Saulsberry and senior starting left tackle James Carmon both suffered knee injuries against Auburn and will be game-time decisions. It is worth noting Mississippi State's biggest weakness is the lack of depth in its offensive line. The bottom line says this one belongs to LSU.
This Is The Football Handicapping I Deliver
There are a multitude of reasons why each of these teams won and in each of the three comments you can see there are many factors that go into my analysis. As you will note, I said Boise State should win by 27-28 and it won by 25 points. I said Iowa State, a 4-point underdog, should win outright by 3-4 points and the Cyclones won by 4. I predicted LSU by 9-10 and the Tigers won by 13.
There is no question in my mind that I have the best formula for handicapping and grading potential winners. While I do not claim to win them all, I win enough to produce substantial profits for my clients, regardless of which club they belong. For the record, my Personal Best Club for highrollers has won more than $400,000 over the past three seasons for $100-per-unit bettors.
I do my work and I win, and when I have a bad week or weekend, I can come right back firing because I am confident that what is revealed in my analysis wins, period.
In the end, there is money for everyone.
The winning continues for the rest of the weekend and here is part of the betting menu.
