Wayne Root: Will Any “Surprise” Teams Reach the NFL Playoffs?

After this week, there will be only one month left in the NFL regular season. All teams will have played a dozen games. Nobody has any bye weeks. It’s the race for the playoffs at the top of the standings, and a backwards race for the #1 draft pick at the bottom.

Today I want to talk about the race for the playoffs. There are so many teams still alive for division crowns and Wildcard berths that we could still have a big surprise in the brackets. Yes, it’s likely that the “usual suspects” will take most of the positions. But, consider…

*The Cleveland Browns at 7-4 are only a half game out of first place in the AFC North, and are currently one of many teams tied for the Wildcard spots. Their season began with way too much media hype about Johnny Manziel. Could the season end with a spot in the playoffs?

*The Miami Dolphins are a game behind the Wildcard records right now. But, they get the NY Jets this Monday Night…which means a likely victory. They also have a home game coming up with Wildcard contender Baltimore amidst what is a fairly manageable schedule. This team is playing great in recent weeks…and could definitely crash the party.

*The Buffalo Bills are tied with Miami at 6-5. They have a home game this week with Cleveland. Whoever loses that game is going to be in some trouble given how jammed the current standings are. The winner gets launched into serious consideration as a party crasher. You can give spots to New England, Denver, and Indianapolis right now. There could definitely be a surprise team in the other three spots.

*The Carolina Panthers are 3-7-1, enduring a very disappointing season. Yet, they’re only a half game out of the playoffs! With New Orleans and Atlanta tied atop the NFC South at 4-7, we’re almost certain to get a mediocre (or BAD) team in the NFC brackets. Sorry Seattle and San Francisco…one of you will get squeezed out while an NFC South struggler is guaranteed to be squeezed in! Carolina faces Minnesota this week, and then can take more control of its destiny against New Orleans a week from Sunday.

*The Tampa Bay Bucs are a horrible 2-9…but are only two games out of first place with four to play…chasing teams who can’t seem to get a win! The Bucs host Cincinnati this week. Cincinnati is playing its third straight road game, which is a very tough schedule spot historically. Hey…get to 3-9…in a division where 6-10 might win…who knows?! Tampa Bay currently ranks #16 out of 16 teams in the NFC…yet still has a shot!

Look, WAYNE ALLYN ROOT loves surprises. I’ve made my living as a sports handicapper by picking more documented upsets than anyone else in the industry. Even I’m not ready to step out on a limb and tell you that Carolina or Tampa Bay will make the playoffs. But, I will tell you this. Odds are better than you think that at least one surprise team is going to crack the brackets. You need to be thinking now about who that’s going to be. The market typically underprices surprises (that’s why my approach works so well), and the general public bets like surprises never happen. If you zig when they zag, you may just find that surprise team before anyone else catches on.

Who’s most likely to surprise? I can’t answer that here because there’s a good chance at least one of those teams will show up on my list of selections this weekend. Here are keys to look for:

*Favorable schedules
*Unfavorable schedules for “usual suspect” teams ahead of them
*Quarterbacks who won’t lose games
*Defenses in the upper half of the league
*Teams who play in their preferred weather zones

Run that through the blender and see what pours out.

I can tell you what I’ll be pouring out this weekend in football. WINNERS! You can always purchase my BEST BETS right here at the website with your credit card. If you have any questions about which of my programs best suits your individual needs, please talk to one of my representatives in the Vegas-Sports-Masters office at 1-888-777-4155. Remember to check on basketball. Early season lines are horrible because oddsmakers are still so focused on football.

I’m the only man in the sports betting industry with a star on the “Walk of Fame” here in Vegas because I can see surprises coming from a mile away. That keeps me ahead of the oddsmakers. Naturally, if an oddsmaker ever gets a star, he’ll be positioned way behind me! Be sure you play this weekend’s SHOCKERS with my clients and I…and get ready for a fantastic finish to what’s already been an incredible season.

It’s time or YOU to go to W.A.R. alongside WAYNE ALLYN ROOT!
