Ho-Ho-Ho right back at ‘ya!
Jim Hurley’s Network wishes all its good friends a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday season … now let’s get down to winnin’, okay?
And what would Christmas Day be without a slew of NBA games for your viewing/wagering pleasure?
The pro hoops card on Sunday sets up like this:
Boston at New York, 12:05 p.m. ET, ESPN
Golden State at Cleveland, 2:35 p.m. ET, ABC
Chicago at San Antonio, 5:05 p.m. ET, ABC
Minnesota at Oklahoma City, 8:05 p.m. ET, ESPN
Los Angeles Clippers at Los Angeles Lakers, 10:35 p.m. ET, ESPN
Naturally, it’s that G-State Warriors versus Cleveland Cavs game that’ll captivate everyone – including Santa! – and take note Cleveland’s really been bitten by the injury bug lately with shooter J.R. Smith (broken thumb) and F Kevin Love (knee) hurting while the Bay Area bunch jelled a little faster than everyone thought with Mr. Kevin Durant having joined the party.
Lots of winners on this Xmas day including that Warriors-Cavs bash, so don’t miss out.
In fact, my Handicappers and Bloggers have the Side & Totals winners of all the NFL Week 16 games including the pair of Christmas Day/Night tilts (that’s Baltimore at Pittsburgh; Denver at Kansas City) and the Monday Nighter between the Detroit Lions at the Dallas Cowboys plus get all of this week’s College Bowl Games too when you check with us here at Jim Hurley’s Network – just make sure you’re all aboard at www.jimhurley.com or at our toll-free telephone # of 1-800-323-4453.
Don’t forget all the daily/nightly action on the hardwood too as there’s NBA and NCAA Hoops action all winter long right here with Jim Hurley’s Network. Get Jim’s NBA Christmas Day winners right now here online!
NF WEEK 16
On Sunday, it’s …
BALTIMORE (8-6) at PITTSBURGH (9-5) – 4:30 p.m. ET, NFL Network
It’s Part II of this rivalry and that means it’s revenge for the host Steelers who were 21-14 losers in Baltimore back in Week 9 play – gotta believe that Pittsburgh will try to hold back the Ravens’ pass rush with lots of draws/traps run by RB Le’veon Bell but the X-factor may just be who kicks more field goals … the red-hot Justin Tucker on Baltimore or the recently-surging Chris Boswell from the Steelers (see six FGs versus Cincinnati last weekend)?
Spread Notes – Pittsburgh rides a five-game ATS (against the spread) winning streak into this holiday fandango while Baltimore’s 2-4-2 spreadwise in its last eight regular-season showdowns versus the Steelers.
DENVER (8-6) at KANSAS CITY (10-4) – 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC
Again, revenge is in the air – what did you think that was, nutmeg! – as the visiting Broncos look to get some Christmas Night payback after losing 30-27 in OT at home back on Nov. 27th. If the Broncos are gonna stay alive for a playoff berth, then someone’s gonna have to wrap up Tyreek Hill who seems to score at least one long-distance TD per game for the KayCee crew. The Chiefs better figure out a way to run the ball a bit here because third-and-long against OLB Von Miller is a virtual death sentence.
Spread Notes – Denver’s just 3-3 versus the vig as underdog sides this year after going 6-and-oh spreadwise as pups in that Super Bowl-winning season a year ago. Kansas City is 4-9-1 ATS as hosts since the start of last year.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL BOWLS
On Tuesday, Dec. 27th, it’s …
HEART OF DALLAS BOWL
Cotton Bowl Stadium – Dallas, TX
ARMY (7-5) vs. NORTH TEXAS (5-7) -- 12 p.m. ET, ESPN
Hats off to the Army Black Knights for finally beating Navy (first time since 2001) and the reward is the program’s first bowl since 2010 – plus it’s a revenge game to boot as then-17.5-point pup North Texas demolished West Point 35-18 back on Oct. 22nd.
Spread Note – Army’s 7-5 ATS mark this year is the team’s first plus-.500 spread season since 2008.
Navy-Marine Corps Stadium – Annapolis, MD
#24 TEMPLE (10-3) vs. WAKE FOREST (6-6) – 3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
Whatta season for the Temple Owls who copped the underrated American Athletic Conference crown and soared into the Top 25 just in time for the holidays. Too bad A+ head coach Matt Rhule is gonzo to Baylor – interim Ed Foley coaches up the Owls here – but all eyes should be on that RB tandem of Ryquell Armstead and Jahad Thomas who – strange but true – each comes into this bowl tilt with 918 yards rushing. Hopefully, nobody from Wake Forest gave Temple the early-bird game plans!
Spread Note – Temple is a stunning 12-1 against the odds this year and 21-6 ATS overall since the start of last season.
Qualcomm Stadium – San Diego, CA
MINNESOTA (8-4) vs. WASHINGTON STATE (8-4) – 7 p.m. ET, ESPN
The drama regarding would they or wouldn’t they play in this bowl game enveloped the Minny Golden Gophers for the better part of the past two weeks but the Big 10 team members have green-lighted things – now what’s the odds they can hang with 10.5-point fav Washington State? Hey, the Cougars scored 42-or-more points on six different occasions this year and QB Luke Falk (once upon a time in our Jim Sez Heisman Trophy Watch List) has thrown for 4,204 yards with 37 TDs.
Spread Notes – Washington State’s covered eight of its last 12 away games; Minnesota is 4-8 spreadwise in non-Big 10 games the past three years.
Chase Field – Phoenix, AZ
BAYLOR (6-6) vs. BOISE STATE (10-2) – 10:15 p.m. ET, ESPN
Hard to believe that the Baylor Bears were 6-and-oh at one point but everything unraveled for this cursed program and now they wobble into the desert here on a six-game losing skid and merely counting the minutes till this season’s over! If Boise State – an 8.5-point fav – allows QB Brett Rypien to haul off and have fun (he did throw for 3,341 yards and 23 TDs this year) than this could get ugly. Don’t know about you, but this price figures to go up to double digits by game time … trust us.
Spread Notes – Both Boise State and Baylor enter this bowl bash with exactly the same 3-9 ATS marks this season.
Note – More Bowls in the next Jim Sez!
