NFL WEEK 12

On Sunday, it's ...

CINCINNATI (3-6-1) at BALTIMORE (5-5) - 1 p.m. ET, CBS
Does anyone want to win the not-so-mighty AFC North?
Both Baltimore and Pittsburgh entered Week 12 sharing the top spot with grisly .500 records but don't discount the now injury-ravaged Bengals just yet. Sure, ace wide out A.J. Green (torn hamstring) is a goner and versatile RB Gio Bernard (knee) is out for the season too but Cincy does play four divisional games from this point on and maybe QB Andy Dalton can summon the goods to rally a Bengals team that's made the playoffs five years running. No doubt the Ravens are reeling after last week's 27-17 loss in Dallas - Baltimore held the 'Boys to four scoreless series to start the game but then were bushwhacked when Dallas scored on four consecutive second-half possessions - and if this going-nowhere ground game can't help QB Joe Flacco here, than the Ravens could be toast.
Spread Notes - Cincinnati has covered four of the last five head-to-head matchups in this series and note Baltimore is just 4-8-2 ATS (against the spread) as betting favorites since the start of last season.

ARIZONA (4-5-1) at ATLANTA (6-4) - 1 p.m. ET, Fox
Glad to hear that Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians is out of the hospital - but you'd be feeling ill too with all this talent and only four wins to show for it 10 games into the current campaign. Last weekend Arizona QB Carson Palmer was a human punching bag as he was whacked around big-time in the 30-24 loss in Minnesota and not sure this 36-year-old former Heisman Trophy winner has fully recovered yet from that multi-sack beating. Expect the Falcons to throw the proverbial "kitchen sink" at Palmer here but let's also see how the Falcons respond off their bye week. In case you were wondering, NFL teams off their byes this year are a collective 14-8-3 versus the vig (that's a pretty slick .636 winning rate!). Last week Atlanta QB Matt Ryan spent his idle time getting his uniform number retired at Boston College - if he can dive a stake into Arizona's hearts here, he'll "retire" any/all post-season hopes these guys have right now.
Spread Notes - Atlanta is 0-and-3 spreadwise as a home favorite this year while 'Zona is 0-2 ATS as a dog this year but a solid 22-14-1 ATS as pups the past four-plus seasons.

SEATTLE (7-2-1) at TAMPA BAY (5-5) - 4:05 p.m. ET, Fox
There are numerous "experts" that believe this here-and-now Seattle Seahawks team is just about ready to make a major run towards Super Bowl 51 - no doubt the ankle/knee issues that plagued do-it-all QB Russell Wilson have improved and he keeps connecting on big pass plays with both TE Jimmy Graham and WR Doug Baldwin but what about this Seahawks' backfield that's already missing RB C.J. Prosise (started one game and got hurt) - can Thomas Rawls be a 20-carry back here against a Tampa Bay defense that stiffened when it had to in last week's 19-17 win at Kansas City? The Bucs remain a Jekyll and Hyde bunch with that shabby 1-4 spread mark at home - if QB Jameis Winston wants to make his mark on this league then getting the best of CB Richard Sherman, S Kam Chancellor and mates is a must.
Spread Notes - Seattle roars into this tilt on a three-game pointspread winning streak while Tampa Bay's failed to cover seven of its last 10 non-divisional games while dating back to late last season.
