More NFL Week 9 Previews -- Broncos vs. Raiders

MORE NFL WEEK 9 PREVIEWS AHEAD!

Hey, at least it’s nice of the NFL to let all their fans “sleep in” on this first Sunday in November – no London game (for the first time in three weeks) plus you do get that extra hour with daylight savings.

So, everyone should be wide awake for an NFL Week menu that features six “early” games and four games in the 4 p.m. Eastern time slot – but it’s that Sunday Night white-hot battle on the left coast that’s got everyone all excited and we’ll get to the Denver Broncos at the Oakland Raiders shortly but first let’s check in on “America’s Team” – a/k/a the Dallas Cowboys:

NFL WEEK 9

On Sunday, it’s …

DALLAS (6-1) at CLEVELAND (0-8) – 1 p.m. ET, Fox

Get a load of this … the Cowboys have not lost a game since Sept. 11th and Jason Garrett’s gang even survived last week’s 29-23 OT win against Philadelphia despite an uber-shaky game from kid QB Dak Prescott (less than 50 percent completions and one costly end-zone INT). Now, Prescott may be without WR Dez Bryant (again!) and so look for 25-plus carries from rookie RB Ezekiel Elliott who loves the idea of “coming home” to the Buckeye state. P.S., word is Browns’ boss Hue Jackson will opt for Cody Kessler at quarterback here … just don’t ask why!

Spread Notes – Dallas rolls into the rock-n-roll city on a six-game pointspread winning streak while Cleveland’s a rotten 5-14-1 ATS (against the spread) as underdog sides since the start of last year.

Extra, extra …

Lots of fantastic matchups on this early November card including a jam-packed Saturday menu of College Football games plus the Sunday card in the NFL that features lots of games including Denver at Oakland.

Jim Hurley’s Handicappers and Bloggers have everything all scoped out and you can get all the NCAA Football, NFL Week 9 and NBA and upcoming NCAA Hoops winners when you check with us here at our toll-free telephone # of 1-800-323-4453 or else right here online.

On Sunday Night, it’s …

DENVER (6-2) at OAKLAND (6-2) – 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC

Amazing but true that the road teams are 8-0 against the odds in all the games this year involving the born-again Oakland Raiders … yes, the suggestion’s been made to close down the “Black Hole” for a night and see if the silver-and-black thinks it is playing an away game!

But, seriously, the Raiders (a one-point betting favorite at last glance) are not expecting another 500-plus yard passing game here from QB Derek Carr but they do need ‘em to rattle a Broncos’ secondary that’s a bit banged up and may not be getting a full-speed CB Aqib Talib (back) here.

On the flip side, the Broncos could well be in that position of needing still-novice QB Trevor Siemian to win ‘em this game as RB C.J. Anderson (knee) remains out and rookie RB Devontae Booker (shoulder) is hurting.

Can Siemian fling two or three scoring strikes here in this prime-timer? He may have to for the defending Super Bowl champs to win!

Take note that these two rivals will play again on the final Sunday of regular-season play (Jan. 1, 2017) – the division could be on the line then as it is now.

Spread Notes – Denver is an electric 7-1-1 ATS in its last nine head-to-head showdowns with Oakland and note the Raiders are just 7-12-1 vig-wise in AFC West games the past three-plus seasons.
