NFL Week 7 -- It’s ’Hawks-Cards on Sunday Nite
IT’S NFL WEEK 7 –
OUR QUICK-HITTER GAME COMMENTS
PLUS THE SUNDAY NITE PREVIEW
(THAT’S SEATTLE AT ARIZONA)
Rise and shine … ‘ya gotta get up pretty early to start your NFL Week 7 on this Sunday as the dysfunctional (in more ways than one) New York Giants battle the Los Angeles Rams in London with kickoff set for 9:30 a.m. Eastern time.
Hey, somebody butter me a bagel with that coffee!
We’ll touch on that overseas tilt and more in today’s Jim Sez but first this key reminder:
We’ll get you all the NFL Week 7 and NCAA Football winners when you check in with Jim Hurley and his Handicappers/Bloggers – just check with us here at the toll-free # of 1-800-323-4453 or right here online at www.jimhurley.com. first thing game-day mornings and on weekdays after 1 p.m. Eastern time.
And remember we’ll have Game 6 of the National League Championship Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers at the Chicago Cubs on Saturday night and Sunday night’s Game 7 (if necessary) with the 2016 World Series set to open in Cleveland come Tuesday night.
NFL WEEK 7
NEW YORK GIANTS (3-3) vs. LOS ANGELES (3-3) – 9:30 a.m. ET, NFL Network
Now that the Giants have become the NFL’s most drama-filled team (see pain-in-the-butt WR Odell Beckham, Jr. and domestic abuser PK Josh Brown – remember the latter didn’t make the plane trip to jolly old England) you wonder if first-year head coach Ben McAdoo is going to have an unfocused bunch on hand here.
BALTIMORE (3-3) at NEW YORK JETS – 1 p.m. ET, CBS
The Ravens make a second straight trip back to MetLife Stadium and they’re keeping fingers crossed that QB Joe Flacco (missed a couple of practice days this week) will play against J-E-T-S gang that’s opted for Geno Smith at quarterback – NYJ’s been outscored 110-to-36 during its four-game losing skid.
OAKLAND (4-2) at JACKSONVILLE (2-3) – 1 p.m. ET, CBS
Strange but true that the road teams have covered all six Raiders’ games thus far in 2016 – make sure to check with Jim Hurley’s Network here online or at 1-800-323-4453 for this tilt – and now you have the ‘Ville posted as tiny favorites following rare back-to-back wins (versus Indianapolis and Chicago). Do you wonder if Jaguars’ QB Blake Bortles is the “real deal”? Hmm, us too!
On Sunday Nite, it’s …
SEATTLE (4-1) at ARIZONA (3-3) – 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC
No matter how you slice it, these NFC West rivals don’t like one another all that much – think Hillary Clinton v. Donald Trump, if you must! – and so get ready for NFL Week 7’s most physical game on the docket:
The Seahawks were fighting among themselves last week after CB Richard Sherman was roasted by an Atlanta Falcons’ TD while the ‘Zona defense is getting better/healthier with each week and nobody’s challenging top-flight CB Patrick Peterson these days.
If you’re looking for Seattle QB Russell Wilson to escape the pocket here, bet your bottom dollar that the Cardinals will put a “spy” on him and so the key will be moving the chains with quick passes to TE Jimmy Graham who – we believe – must be a 100-plus yard catch guy here while the flip side says Arizona RB David Johnson (his 568 yards rushing is third in the NFL) must get minimum 25 touches.
Spread Note – Arizona is just 4-8 ATS (against the spread) in its last dozen head-to-head matchups against Seattle.
