NFL Week 10 Quick Hitters
OUR NFL WEEK 10 QUICK-HITTER PREVIEWS & FORECASTS
In an earlier-week edition of Jim Sez we brought you in-depth previews/forecasts of some key NFL Week 9 games including Carolina at San Francisco and Seattle at Atlanta and so let's keep the pro gridiron beat rollin' here with more quick-hitter previews/forecasts as we check out three more games on Sunday's card:
In NFL Week 10 play, it's ...
PHILADELPHIA (4-5) at GREEN BAY (5-3) - 1 p.m. ET, Fox
The GB Packers would like you to think this is a case of no QB Aaron Rodgers, no problem ... but we all know that's a bunch of bunk!
Without Rodgers - injured on his team's first series in last Monday's 27-20 home loss to Chicago - the Packers were pretty much punch-less behind veteran backup Seneca Wallace (who is 5-16 all time as a starter in the NFL) but might the bigger story here be what Philly does as QB Nick Foles comes off a seven-TD showing in Oakland in which four different pass-catchers scored at least one touchdown. The Packers hope the return of LB Clay Matthews (thumb/out last four games) will help the home team's cause.
Spread Note - Green Bay's 16-6 ATS (against the spread) in all home games dating back to the start of the 2011 season.
DENVER (7-1) at SAN DIEGO (4-4) - 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS
Now here's a touch of irony: Had first-year SD Chargers head coach Mike McCoy stayed around for another season as the offensive coordinator/play-caller of the Denver Broncos, he would be the one coaching them here as Denver's John Fox recuperates from his recent heart surgery.
McCoy's here-and-now Chargers club has - unfortunately - become adept at blowing close games as the Bolts have dropped a pair of three-point verdicts to Houston and Tennessee and then last week went down in flames in OT at Washington and in order to get on the plus side of .500 here the San Diego defense must get major heat on QB Peyton Manning who heads up on offense averaging an NFL-high 42.9 ppg. If SD doesn't register at least 10 sacks/hurries/pass bat-downs, it won't win here.
Spread Note - Denver is 4-10-4 versus the vig in all head-to-head showdowns with San Diego since 2004.
On Sunday Night, it's ...
DALLAS (5-4) at NEW ORLEANS (6-2) - 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC
It's certainly looking like these here-and-now N'Orleans Saints have become the masters of the home/road split: The Saints are 4-0 SU (straight-up) and 4-0 ATS inside the Louisiana Superdome this season while last week's 26-20 loss at the NY Jets dropped Sean Payton's crew to 1-3 SU/ATS away - and can anyone tell us here whether or not the expected return of Cowboys DE/OLB DeMarcus Ware is gonna wreck the Saints' plans of protecting QB Drew Brees who often times looked lost in that tilt at MetLife Stadium?
One Cowboys-related note on offense here: Dallas ranks 27th in the NFL in rushing (averages just 75.7 ground yards per game) and last week rushed the ball a grand total of nine times in that come-from-behind 27-23 non-cover win against Minnesota.
Spread Note - New Orleans has covered four of the last six head-to-head showdowns versus Dallas while dating back to the 2003 season.

Remember we have NBA and NCAA Basketball winners each/every day too now! Hey, Jim Hurley's Network has really revved it up this week with the following winners: We had Central Michigan (+ 21) over Ball State and slipped under the Las Vegas price tag in that 44-24 final this past Wednesday night; On Thursday, we cashed with Stanford (+ 10) over Oregon 26-20 after once leading that Pac-12 high-profile game 26-zip; And also on Thursday Night we bashed the books with Side & Totals winners in the Washington Redskins at Minnesota Vikings game. The Vikes roared back to snag a 34-27 victory and we hit both plays to start off the NFL Week 10 card ... now that's pickin' brother!
NOTE: Lots more in the next edition of Jim Sez including a Monday Night Football Preview/Forecast - that's the Miami Dolphins at the Tampa Bay Bucs.
